What Is The Best, Free, Software To Monitor 75 Remote Ip Addresses To Make Sure The Dsl Is Still Up?
I am looking for software or a web service to monitor 75 + remote DSL routers. Want to be notified if one of them goes down by email.

I think there is some software called BigBrother that is free – it will do the trick!
NETPING
Hello;
Well, I’m not sure of which software is the best 4 that but u can do a Google search and type ur question in the search box. U may also try to go to http://www.snapfiles.com/freeware ~~~~~ and u can look under the Networking category. Because, actually I don’t use an IP address software, myself, so I couldn’t tell u which one is the best. And cause there’re alot of software out on the Web 4 that.
Anyway, if u need any more help, please feel free to send me an email to: mariopcgames@comcast.net ~~~~
Good luck!
Laters
BigBrother would certainly do the job, but it’s far from free! $2,500 per management console + $100 per managed node!
Netping won’t help, it’s little more than a port scanner and has no notification capabilities.
Assuming that your routers support syslog, have a look at Kiwi Syslog Daemon at http://www.kiwisyslog.com/syslog-info.ph…
The freeware version may or may not do what you want. Just enable syslog on the routers and point them at your syslog server.
If Kiwi doesn’t meet your needs, google around; there are open source syslog servers that could do what you want.
